After spending years studying everything from quantum physics to ancient religious texts, I’ve discovered something I never thought to find. All religions, all sacred teachings at the base are all pointing to the same fundamental truth. They just use different languages and verbiage to describe it. These diverse traditions reveal the same core principle: If you think then you are and you are what you think.
When quantum physicists talk about the observer effect, they’re describing the same phenomenon that ancient mystics called “the law of assumption.” The Kabbalah teaches that our consciousness shapes reality. The Kybalion speaks of mental transmutation. Even Jung’s concept of synchronicity points to how our inner world manifests in our outer experience.
Let me break down some of what I’ve found in my research:
- The Egyptian god Thoth taught that “as above, so below” – meaning our inner reality creates our outer experience
- The Eastern Star’s teachings emphasize personal transformation through changing consciousness
- The Masonic traditions focus on “building” reality through focused thought and intention
- Quantum physics shows that particles exist in multiple states until observed
- The double-slit experiment demonstrates how consciousness affects physical reality
- Brain research reveals how our expectations literally shape our perceptions
- The Bible states “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7)
- Edgar Cayce’s readings consistently emphasized the power of consciousness
- The Law of One describes reality as a function of consciousness
Here’s what all these traditions are trying to tell us: life is a game of consciousness. Every thought, every assumption, every belief we hold creates ripples in the fabric of our reality. Like a master costume designer choosing just the right fabric and pattern, we’re constantly designing our experience through our assumptions about what’s possible.
But here’s the key that many miss – this isn’t about forcing positive thinking or denying reality. It’s about understanding that what we assume to be true becomes our experience. When I work with clients, I help them assume the character they’re playing. They don’t pretend – they become. That’s exactly what these ancient teachings are showing us about life itself. “All the world is a stage and we are but players.” – Shakespeare.
Let me share how this plays out in real life. I love Jim Carey’s stoiry about how he would drive iup into the Hollywood HIlls and not drive down until he felt like he was a real movie star. He assumed it, until it was true. We know how that ended up for him.
Here’s how you can apply this understanding:
- Recognize your current assumptions
- Choose the assumptions that align with your desires
- Live from those assumptions as if they’re already true
- Watch how reality reshapes itself to match
What fascinates me most is how these principles show up in seemingly unrelated fields. In quantum physics, they talk about quantum entanglement – particles affecting each other instantaneously across vast distances. In the Bible, we see similar principles in phrases like “with God all things are possible.” The Law of One describes consciousness as the foundation of all reality. There is nothing meta about meta physics, it’s just plain physics we haven’t learned how to measure yet.
Y’all, this isn’t just theory – it’s practical wisdom backed by both ancient knowledge and modern science. Every tradition I’ve studied, from the most esoteric to the most scientific, points to this same truth: our assumptions create our reality. End of story.
Understanding this game changes everything. It moves us from being pawns to becoming conscious players. When we truly grasp that our assumptions create our reality, we begin to take responsibility for our experience in a whole new way. If you believe you are lucky, you are. If you believe you will fail, you will.
The beauty of this understanding is that it doesn’t require us to abandon our current beliefs – it simply asks us to recognize the power we hold in shaping our experience. Whether you’re coming at this from a religious, scientific, or philosophical perspective, the truth remains the same: the game of life is played in consciousness first. As above, so below. As within, so without.
Remember, as anyone with good hospitality knows, you set the table before the guests arrive. If you are going to a rain dance, you take an umbrella. If want a harvest you see the field ready for it. Set your assumptions then experience the manifest. That’s the game we’re all playing, whether we know it or not.
